ive heard of these but never went past a couple pages(on a pdf file)
they seem too complicated to read but ill try to read the full thing if i srs buy the physical version

If you want an “overview” of western philosophy read
“history of western philosophy” (Russell)

Note: Kierkegaard is omitted, for example, and Russell is not exactly impartial


Otherwise, “A New History of Western Philosophy” (Kenny), or “A history of Philosophy” (Copleston)
 
the closest thing I've read related to academic philosophy (that I can recommend) is the Unabomber manifesto.

but you'd be better served by first looking over the Stanford encyclopedia of philosophy and getting a feel for what interests you. tbh I don't read actual philosophy tho I like novels with those kind of themes.
 
The World as will and representation by Schopenhauer and Nausea by Sartre, a very contrasting pair
