For me it was when I was like 15. My mom sent me to this holiday camp up in the mountains during summer vacations. It was the kind of place where there was 0 signal (like literally none) and the only place where there were people besides the camp was this tiny little town (like 15 min away on foot)

Just so you know, the camp was out in the middle of the mountains but there was a cemetery nearby and you could get to the front of it by crossing a little bridge over a river. Anyway, that sets the mood

Back then I had a crush on this girl at the camp and she had a fight with her temp-bf on the last night during the party. It was just a small party where everyone was dancing etc and we had to be back in our rooms before 2 AM

Around 11 PM, after their little fight, she stayed with me and we were walking around the camp holding hands and looking at the stars. After walking around twice we thought we’d go a bit further and started heading toward the river. There was no light AT ALL except for the moon’s reflection and with all the sounds you hear in the forest at night, it went from romantic to straight up horror movie vibes

She told me she wanted to go back but even though I was fucking scared, I didn’t want to look weak in front of her jfl, so I reassured her and we kept going
As we crossed the bridge, we got closer and closer to the big cemetery gate but the vibe was seriously creepy and the girl let go of my hand and said she was going back on her own cause it was just too much

As we were heading back to the bridge, we saw someone in the distance walking toward us in the dark. Since we were in the MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, we figured it was one of the camp leaders coming to look for us, so we felt relieved... BUT the weird part was, the person had no flashlight and as they got closer, they didn’t say our names or anything at all. That’s when we both realized it wasn’t someone from the camp...

We had the choice to either run towards the cemetery and get lost in the forest in the middle of the night or try to cross the bridge praying nothing bad would happen... so we went with the second option

I swear when he walked past us, those were the LONGEST few seconds of my life. It felt like every second lasted a full minute and I honestly thought the guy was gonna kill us or smth. When he walked past me, I couldn’t even see his face, just this little smirk and it sent chills down my spine. I didn’t know what to do, I wanted to run but my legs weren’t working and I couldn’t leave the girl behind after dragging her into this

It could’ve stopped there, but after he passed us by like 10/15 meters, out of nowhere we hear this deep loud scream that didn’t sound like anything human. I turned around and I saw him totally losing it

There was fog.. that creepy bridge.. and everything.. he kept screaming nonstop

That was too much so we ran like crazy. When we got back, the girl cried (I felt so guilty for her) and we headed back to our rooms. The next day we asked the camp leaders if anyone goes near the cemetery at night and they said no..

I swear that scream fucking haunted me. It sounded like pure despair. Just thinking about it gave me chills.

It’s one of my biggest regrets. If I’d known, I never would’ve gone there (but I kinda wish I’d talked to him to know what was really going on)

Long post but I was in bed thinking about it and thought I’d make a thread
