Actually that would be ancient Indian, because when Alexander the Great fought Indians in ancient times, it referred to modern-day Pakistan, and not modern-day India. He fought his last major campaign around the Jhelum river, where my family is from.

The reason they never went to modern-day India is because they were told that much langer forces were awaiting them, but this wasn't true. Still, the Greek army revolted against Alexander because they barely managed to defeat an army that was much smaller than their own.

The Gangetic peoples (modern-day Indians) actually despised their own king, and would have welcomed the Greek army with open arms since they saw their own king as oppressive.

I know we are shitposting here but cannot help but to clear up misconceptions.
