Language pill isn’t brutal , everyone speaks English nowadays , this forum is a perfect example.
But honestly I would love to look for some experiment that was done comparing people’s intelligence based on the amount of languages they know
I’m not saying you need to know 10+ languages
But a good 3-5 langauge seems ideal.
I myself am actively trying to improve my weakest languages. And hopefully some day would love to learn 1-2 more. But who knows maybe life will take me to a whole new environment (Japan
(I didn’t say that tho shh) At least wanna visit it once)
The best time to learn them is as a kid , but unfortunately we all have missed that window, (maybe you might consider blessing your kids by hiring an international babysitter) but now we must struggle through the books and hours of struggling to comprehend the thousands of words in these languages.
But now the question arises , what counts as an ability to speak a language ? Can we determine that on a level ? (A1 - C2 ) sure I suppose we can. But I think on the surface level , if you can uphold a conversation with a stranger (introducing yourself , telling a bit about yourself , asking questions , inviting them to somewhere , describing experiences) in the present , future , and past tense , even if you might struggle a bit with a couple words here and there (most importantly they can UNDERSTAND you) then I think that can count as a +1 language for you.
But many people like to travel the world, some work aboard , and yet again you never know where life might take you … (still probably will be alright with English)
I think the best thing to do with a learnt language is to travel, find new friends , maybe get some professional experience with that language. But again there are questions , are these “benefits” worth the stress of studying ?
Probably depends from person to person.
For me it’s brutal seeing a kid born to a multi lingual family , and then the immigrated so they kid learns a third language , and he probably learns English in school , so now he knows 4 languages. Fuck and he didn’t even have to do anything about it , just be born and know 4 languages , for me at least it’s brutal.
Another example – a French mom and a Russian dad , BOOM he knows Russian and French right of the bat. Then in school they teach him english , BOOM that’s three. Then let’s suppose the kid goes to university in Germany and starts his professional career in Germany , BOOM 4 , and let’s say he is an anime gooner and goes on a quick travel to Japan , falls in love with a girl and they do their thing blah blah blah , and they get married (wtv
) so now he stays with her and he knows Japanese now. BOOM that’s 5. Language mog

People that speak more languages are higher iq , have better critical thinking skills , comprehend things more clearly. Their brain works much more efficiently, effectively, and they process things in a different way (positively)
