we are fundamentally social creatures

in a social hierarchy there will always be people who are seen as lower and who are pushed around

look at primates for example, they have complex social groups like humans, they are shown to bully certain members of their groups

still nowadays a lot of it is driven solely by greed and narcissism, i don't think that's a result of human nature that's being mentally ill

being social is one of the qualities that makes us distinctly human

our way of living is built on following social order and hierarchy, even in nature and in tribes there will still be some form of social order and hierarchy though it would obviously be very different from how it is in the modern world it still exists

if there's no one at the bottom, then there can be no one at the top

someone has to be put down for others to be seen as higher

goatis's ideology of just simply not thinking about what others think about you is flawed because it's what makes us human, we care about what others think because we want to be socially accepted because it's our nature

i agree with you

i think who goatis refers to as 'others' are other 'slaves' who are unaware of the real hierachy in todays society
i think he understands how it would work in nature, his point is to not concern yourself with material objects to satisfy your ego for the sake of other 'slaves' who are in reality equal to you
idk if ykwim

this also relates to how humans will always appeal to authority, i think the stanford prison experiment does a great job at demonstrating this

well I understand that, at face value yes, they are equal to you so what they think shouldn't matter, but inherently it always will matter to us because we are naturally meant to be social and within social order you thrive off of the validation of others of what others think of you

goatis's whole ideology is to follow your natural instinct as closely as possible but caring about how others perceive us and wanting to be accepted by others Is our nature, not wanting to be accepted by others is objectively unnatural
