Hi please dont dnr or I will shove my arm down your throat for you to choke on

At the time I lived in a third world country for a short period (TL;DR my mum is schizo)

a common place u live in is like a double condo that is surrounded by tall walls with barbed wire, with a gate and a gatekeeper (the gatekeeper is just like a normal dude nothing special)

power cuts out a lot and sometimes for hours or the entire day I'd miss out on spongebob, we had a generator though and I learnt how to pour gasoline in that bitch, fix that bitch, then rev up that fucking bitch so I can watch spongebob peacefully.

I was like 7 or 8 at the time, one day as I came home back from school, I noticed my gatekeeper was holding a bird in his hand, I asked him what he was going to do with it and one thing led to another and I insisted I can take the bird because I could tell my gatekeeper wasn't keen on keeping it cuz it kept trying to bite him.

The bird got caught in barbed wire apparently, it was not massively bruised it just couldn't fly due to exhaustion or some other ailment, I took the bird with me to my backdoor and just kept looking at it and petting it then gave it water, I tried to feed it stuff from my kitchen and it kept following me around everywhere but wouldn't eat anything I tried giving it.

I was confused, as the bird wouldn't fly, never bit me nor scratched, and would allow me to pet it and shit, so I left it at my backdoor and had the idea of checking my animal encyclopaedia I always read, sat myself on the ground next to it and just scrolled through all the birds and shit. I checked it's beak, talons, feather patterns and shit and it ended up being a common kestrel, these n*****s are birds of prey and eat small mammals and bugs

At this point I knew I couldn't keep it since a bird of prey isn't a pet, but I thought to myself I would be happy if I could see it fly again even if it meant it would leave me, it would be free. The bird was at least chill with me and wouldn't try to bite me unlike other ppl.

I was telling my mum if we can put it indoors instead once she found out, but I explained to her that I'm not going to keep it I just want it to fly again, she ended up tying it to a metal pipe and would scold me if I were to bring it in, she wouldn't allow me to at least make a bed or anything or remove the tie. I asked her if we could take it to a vet or she could at least buy some sort of meat for it at least and she promised she would and I was happy, but she never returned with anything, days went by and I would ask her and she would always promise the same and never got anything. During those days I would dig up earthworms in a tiny grass plot to feed it but there wasn't much, most food we had was like tough meats that weren't really suitable at all, my mum would always try to scold me if I ever fed it.

3 days went by or maybe 4, I woke up and made my way to the backdoor, my mum just standing in the kitchen with the bird laying down as she was washing her dishes, I knew the bird had died and was sad (not visibly ofc) but I was questioning why my mum just left it there and didn't care. She then told me to pick it up and follow her, she led me outside to a ditch with piles of trash and told me to "throw it out" I didn't want to do it but I realised I did not really have a choice and I threw the bird into the piles of trash.

Anyway I have remembered this bird randomly and have got very very sad for just a little second, and then I remembered this random clip from peacemaker and it made me even more sad but giggled:

That's actually unfortunate, and the bird probably would have fully recovered as well if your mom kept her promise.

Have you ever thought about hitting your mother with an axe? 🪓
