i've gotten good advice from time to time with my sessions but like I deadass got better on my own, therapy did kinda help motivate me bc I was getting validation so I guess that did something. other than that I lowk got the most vaguest advice known to man
"you know you shouldn't be doing this" "*insert problem* isn't going to make you feel any better" "you're better than this" same shit all the time. "you need to learn how to let go" oh my god just stop talking to me. one of the biggest reasons why i'm way better than what I used to be is probably....okay I don't even know, I lowk decided to lock in last summer and now I'm chilling. past "trauma" still sticks with me but i haven't been acting out or going to the hospital so a win is a win. I have mood problems so that's probably what played a part in me randomly wanting to do better for myself
. therapy can definitely work for a lot of people but it depends on how motivated you are to get better and if your therapist is good.
im still in therapy currently cus my parents won't take me out of it, so rn I'm using it to rant about random things that happened to me at school (grades, friends, etc etc) instead of talking about personal stuff. I really don't feel like explaining my situation for the millionth time just to get the same advice but worded differently.
what are your thoughts about therapy? and if you've done therapy before did it help?
