heroic not in the literal definition, but more-so a spiritual sense
‘heroic’ as in someone endangers/sacrifices their life, solely for the purpose of attesting their core principles, devoting their life to their beliefs
such death does not exist anymore
there is death that is capitalised, weaponised, and derived for entertainment, but there is no ‘heroic death’.
suicide could once be seen as ‘heroic’ in certain contexts, and even presently I myself could almost admire an individual who has been so tormented by their own misery, that they see the only choice as to disobey their own instinctual desire of survival
however, this is not ‘heroic’. it is pathetic. even more so when the individual deprecates themselves further by putting on a show for the cruelty which is the internet.
suicide, however, in the context of ‘Seppuku’, could be seen as heroic. a truly honourable death
