don't make me bring drones into the argument, they are taking lives of about 40 people daily, they are impossible to outrun or outjump or whatever, your life is in enemy's hands basically. even if you somehow jump to the side in the last moment the shockwave will still kill you in the end.

it's a constant fear of dying every second. it's not like in the movies, i don't even want to mention the conditions, wet in the summer, literally mud up to your waist. in winter it's -14 and you are freezing in your uniform, it's some crazy shit. you see dead people daily, your mates die and your hands will be in their blood as you try to save them. the stench coming from dead, decomposed bodies. you will be probably also going insane with each day there.

you can't sleep because every 5 minutes a guy can go in your trench and murder everybody, there's a lot of mind games on the battlefield.

yes, usually there's no mercy for drone operators because they are assumed to have killed a lot of people. normal soldiers usually get spared tho(or at least kept hostage).
but it really depends, i've seen a lot of videos where our guys were literally just shot FOR NOTHING. they were just sitting there, hands tied, and still got a bullet to their head, they didn't do anything, not a jerk. just that someone decided to take their lives by their own will. those are called war crimes.

from what i've heard russians are really ruthless and they do the worst things i've heard. i've read so many cases of civilians brutally murdered on the streets during the first days. houses destroyed and looted. people robbed and killed and ed. children taken away or worse. (not always but this happened a lot)

they also mock dead people or torture those that are barely alive. it's just really sad that things like these happen and geneva convention doesn't help it at all.
