This forum is so low sentience

Tbh, i just like the concept of understanding what people might think about themselves. In such a post a lot can show if they are emotionally impulsive and it will lead eventually to how they view the site. With that being said, i think the only reason why i made this post was because i wanted to see if people agreed with someone who wasn't that well known.
i agree with the post although it was worded very mean and narcy which was ur goal

there will always be ppl like that and i find myself doing it as well which im trying to change. my goal is to be someone who truly stands their ground

Open-mindedness is not what i mean, it's the fact that someone will call a women a whore and mean it, then immediately take it back and play sheep due to high frequency of the topic being weird from that character. Then they go on to do the same thing in another way and create a loop of dishonesty which is a result of not holding your own values and opinions.

Flip flopping is a weird thing, i would rather someone call someone a whore because it shows they hold some type of value to there words even if its a disgusting thing.
Give me five minutes I need to improvise a sensible answer

This is what I think after thinking about it for five minutes:

First thing:
You assume that people want to be honest, which is generally true but:

- some want to be honest but are unable to do so for various reasons
- some don’t want to be honest and prefer to relate to others with a mask and dose their honesty
- some appreciate honesty, not disdaining unconventional methods
- others compromise honesty

I belong to the third category

Let's pretend that a person wants to be honest and expresses his/her opinion in a thread and that this opinion is judged negatively (no need to specify how an opinion can be judged negatively here)

Even assuming that he/she doesn’t change his/her mind for that reason, that person has to be
A: capable of upholding his/her opinion (main characteristic: dedication)
B: capable of maintaining his/her opinion over time
C: willing to continue interacting with others in the same way

Not easy

I'll stop here

Maybe i'm big on honesty as i think deception even with my skewed morals is a shitty thing. Honesty isn't simple yes, people handle it differently. Most can't or won't do it long term. I get it's a thick skin mentality and takes dedication, that's why i feel the need to call it out. It won't do much for anyone if they aren't open to such change, their faults not ours.

You don't have to answer this, i agree with the core of everything you said.

But, since you belong to the 3rd category. How do you decide when to hold back and when to be fully honest? isn't there a risk that 'dosing' honesty just becomes another form of deception?

I already answered this question both yesterday, when altruist asked me about “confidence”, and in the thread I opened today with violet

I’m almost always honest, I decide not to be honest when I think others don’t appreciate honesty (I’m not referring to like/dislike) or when others demonise my honesty

I might see myself in the 3rd category too now that you put it like this, i assume conditional is context based and strategic just comes with that.

I see it as, honesty mixed with self preservation. still real, but filtered.

I feel none of you guys hold your own opinions/values or you all flip flop due to high frequency of disliked or liked topics. "I do this because this guy holds these morals and i like him as a user."

you guys ride off each other like how opossums carry their babies.
Why are you so mean to me 😔
