I read berserk over about a week but I could definitely see how mysterious he was when he would randomly appear. He seemed like a strange deus-ex early on, but started to slot into the story later with Zodd he was definitely the biggest missing piece, still is.

I can definitely see that he always has a perfect timing so maybe people thought his portals were time related too. IMO he's definitely that one king (Gaiseric) from the old age flashbacks when the kingdom was founded though? I think it lines up with the godhand that he hates / those he's killed and how often a new one is added. Someone (Void?) sacrificed the Lady Priestess. Somehow Flora is related, although she's definitely not a millenia old. Maybe he got the armor from her master who was implied to live on elf island?​
