thoughts on getting braces, types of braces to get?

I'm thinking about getting braces soon since I've always had fucked up teeth. I have a massive overbite and an overjet on my upper front teeth and my lower teeth are misaligned. It's not severe but noticable, on top of that I also have a narrow palate.
I've heard about braces causing recession but I honestly don't know much to talk about it.

does anyone have an idea on which type of braces is the best one to get?
or is there an alternative way of fixing my teeth

I'd appreciate any advice/comments

crossbite although from pictures when i was 14/15 it wasn't even that bad it's not a huge insecurity but would be nice to see it fixed

Get blue or purple colored, cuz they make yo teeth white
