welp my friends tommorws the last day of this 5 week STEM program filled with good times and beyond horrible ones
Last week I asked her if she had Instagram. She said no. I introduced myself, she smiled, and I asked again if she had IG. She said no, so I said “okay, see you tomorrow.”
Yesterday I told her her presentation was great, better than mine. She was happy, leaned in, smiling when I told her. Today, before tomorrow — the last day — things went wrong.
Like always, she split with her friends during lunch. That was fine. I was going to catch her when we were leaving so I wouldn’t even have to see her again after getting a TikTok. Anyway, I tried to get her attention. She went with her friends to the SYE place to check out the office. Fine, I’ll just wait until they split.
They didn’t split. They stayed together, and then my friends — well, my teammates — came together into a group with her. We only knew each other for a few weeks, so I guess I can call them teammates. They all got into a big group and left, so I was awkwardly following them in the back. This is not what I meant to do at all.
Then they went up the stairs. They were getting ready to go out the regular entrance. They realized I was behind them, I guess, and went the other back way. I kept walking ahead to make it look like I wasn’t following them, because I really didn’t want to follow them. Then I went through the back way with them because I couldn’t let her get away without getting a TikTok.
So I ended up following them from the back. The girl I originally liked — her friend — went behind me and said, “Why are you following us?” I said, “I was just trying to talk to your friend.” She misheard me and thought I said I was talking to my friend. She said, “Why aren’t you talking to them? You seem kind of creepy.”
I just went across the street and left.
And tomorrow I literally have to present in front of everyone and be around them again. Now my friends probably think I’m bothering her, and she probably does too. The whole thing feels ruined, bro.
