In the link you posted, the
main study states in its limitations section a huge limitation for your arguement:
"However, this study’s experimental design does not facilitate knowing other relevant variables like the respondents’ nationality and personality traits. Unfortunately, calculating these matches’ racial homogamy rate was impossible since
we did not register the race of the respondents.
Without knowing the respondents’ race, we can not determine if the results mostly indicate a racial homogamous preference of White people preferring people of their race or if racial minorities also share this preference."
The graph under "racial and ethnic categories" on Wikipedia (I would use the government census to cite my information, but it is currently down due to maintenance) states:
Whites: 61.63%
Black: 12.4%
Multiracial: 10.21%
East, Central, and Southeast Asians: 4.26%
South Asians: 1.74%
I am having a hard time finding hard evidence of okcupids racial makeup, however
this article states:
"
Not enough samples for minorities –
the majority of OkCupid users are white. For example, black people represent only 4.6% of the total female members in the last example. According to the US Census Bureau, the total black population of the US was 13.6% in 2010. Also, there are non-Americans on OkCupid too.
There are simply too many other factors that are not taken into account."
It could very well be a case of just mostly homogamous
whites on there, again a theory because there is no hard evidence I found, but it could be viable since
whites are the majority in the
U.
S.
Also,
interracial Marriage is still 10% in the United States, and
Pew Research states that the most prevalent form of intermarriage is
Hispanic/
White:
Actually, in interracial marriages, black husband / white woman are 4% more common than white husband / black woman.
In terms of the racial profile of the LGBTQ community in the U.S: The majority is white at 58%. Second is Latino/a at 21%.
Data suggests that dating is assortative when it comes to height and
looks (
Although a weaker correlation for height), and
it is not any different for race. (However, this source states that interracial marriage is around 22% for newlyweds)
