I’ll be Honest I do think if I had to forget one of the languages I knew it would be Russian. I never use it (outside of family)

Yes it is really useful but bruh I don’t live in Eastern Europe anymore

Dude people don’t realize how dominate English is becoming it’s actually scary

Will to cause problems ? Prolly not.

Crazy to think that Russian was once as dominate / useful as English. But that time is long gone.

English should just be made the standard. People who view language as an integral part of their culture are stupid, it's inconvenient to have this many languages

I disagree. A language unites. Having a language EVERYONE speaks can cause more inequality and internal problems.

But yet again how should we communicate ?

Technically we really don’t need to communicate

Think about it , even this forum , it’s useless if the government wanted to they would shut it down. The true reason why it’s being promoted is because of its convenience for more Profits and media coverage.

The only people that really need international communication are the elites , politicians , and maybe businesses. That’s why we could have translators for that.

But now that eveyone is learning English we don’t need it. I don’t think it’s causing problems but the thing is most people learn it to move out of their countries and live elsewhere. So for smaller / poorer countries having their smartest people leave isn’t ideal

Honeslty if i knew Romanian more it would be the one I would consider most useless

You just contradicted yourself

Technically we really don’t need to communicate
Just rambling

DNR the rest. An English standard would mog & resolve many issues long-term

extremely useful in russia itself, post ussr caucasian countries
parts of eastern Europe and baltics

beautiful language,
and you can pull legit slavic stacylites if fluent

Sorry not what I meant. Basically what I mean is that one worldwide language = disruption

Language communities = unites
It just wouldn't. This logic makes zero sense, you're advocating more division by suggesting many languages

Yea I’m not against it. It’s basically in full effect right now , no?

What issues that are so bad that requires a worldwide langauge ?
People are retarded, they'll find any reason to look down upon others, this stems from cultural identity mainly - language is insignificant enough to strip away. Past that it's logistics & efficiency of a one-language world

But how would this be division ? What is the point of us internationally communication if not for profit ?

Also you don’t realize the amount of languages that will die and it will absolutely MURDER cultures

So much cultures would be at risk

And here i thought it was a pretty cool language lol i had no idea english was so dominate

Commutation goes beyond plain profit. Think of all benefits that'd come of it: where the large majority globally speak English, the convenience is unmatched

Also you don’t realize the amount of languages that will die and it will absolutely MURDER cultures

I don't care. Let them die, they're useless anyways. Traditionalism is just holding onto the past and seeking comfort in whats known to people

if this were the human mindset since times began we'd still be hunters in Africa. Culture outside the 1st world will die out anyways

Dude are you like blind while scrolling through this forum ?

Literally so much euros that speak such good English it’s so fascinating

Well most of west eu definitely i know that its pretty common for people to know english. But i had no idea this was the case for russia too

Convenience for who ? For the regular people ?

Yet again like I’m saying only reason this is happening this spread is because of profit desires

Well I can understand old cultures dying like tribes and a shit but bro so much countries will lose their identities and their people it will be sad to see

I’m assuming you are from a English speaking country so you wouldn’t care
if this were the human mindset since times began we'd still be hunters in Africa. Culture outside the 1st world will die out anyways
Yea sure but we must preserve cultures. Especiallt White European ones from niche countries

Actually no Russia only has like a 5% of the population speaking English. English isn’t really a known language there.

man russian is such a cool language
Honestly starting to regret saying what I said. It Honeslty is pretty useful. 300m speakers despite being quite niche. And it’s a un official language. I really wish I could speak better Spanish tho

i feel like the vast majority of russians live in russia, even living in a major metropolitan city i’ve only met 2 and both were at least 10 years older than me

Worldwide yes

In Russia absolutely no

I don’t live in Russia so I could go without knowing it
Makes sense. Btw from your time living there do you recommend some1 to do so? I've been thinking about studying abroad in Moscow.

There are like 175m ethnic Russians worldwide

Like 225m Russian citizens (not every “Russian” is ethnically Russian)

Yes Russians have always had a hard time immigrating so that’s why there aren’t a lot out there but there are still quite a lot in Germany ; USA , and Kazakhstan

Like 10-15m if you combine them all in those countries

Unfortunately I’m not from Russia but I have been there multiple times.

Honeslty rn wouldn’t be good to study there

Only Africans and Indians are better off studying there
