I used to be a utilitarianist back when I was a naive teen

Then I realised that
a) some people deserve to be unhappy and utilitarianism is basically commie garbage in that regard
b) measuring happiness doesn't even make sense - it relies on the unsupported assumption that we can just apply tools of mathematical/scientific rigour outside of contexts where they are properly defined

There ideas that effect the way we live
Hardly, our lives are affected by institutions, which  may use these paradigms as guidelines in certain situations
