How can water be wet if water is water and water can only make something else wet but not make itself wet
isn't the substance itself wet? so obviously water is wet

For that to hold true you will need to take a deep dive into the exact definition of wet which is something covered or saturated with water or another liquid. Thus you cannot saturate water with water because it would = +2 water and not water + water thus my point stands
