During 9/11 was prime america tbh... me and my n*****s were searching all the people named abu or abdullah just to ask them questions thinking they had caused it... media spread racism during that period so me and hb started hunting all the muslims down... but now i regret it because we made their lives worse by bullying them

It was somehow a good place to dwell in following the second world war up to the late 90s/2000s due to several factors, firstly being insulated from the horrors of the both world wars, secondly following the previous line of thought it was in a superior position compared to almost entirety of the globe, that superior position translated into tangible cultural, economic, military and resource management leverage, thirdly due to being a country of a gargantuan proportions it was ripe with resources of various kind and prospects of creating things not possible in smaller countries, fourthly its far distance from all of its enemies and only bordering with friendly canada and weak mexico made it one of the safest country on the planet with the least probability of being invaded by other hostile nation.

usa has the most social/economic mobility of anywhere in the world. it's the land of opportunity, the birthplace of the american dream.

it's 10000x harder to make yourself from nothing in other countries

so ironically when you are crying about muh wealth inequality, you are in the one place on the planet where you have the most autonomy to actually fucking do something about it

Saying Palestine attacked for no reason ignores decades of occupation, blockade, and violence. Hamas doesn’t represent all Palestinians, most of them are civilians living under oppression. You can condemn terrorism without dehumanizing an entire people 😬

hamas was voted in democratically, so yes, hamas does represent the people

and dont twist my words to frame it as me encouraging or even wanting innocent palestinians to be killed/attacked. clearly that is wrong and im against that. but i have zero sympathy for the state and think heavy military intervention is completely justified (even if there are human shields at play, because hamas is vile garbage)

Saying you're against killing civilians but support military action 'even with human shields' is like saying you're against drowning while holding someone's head under water. You can’t have it both ways...Being elected in 2006 doesn't mean 2 million people (half of them children 😐 ) deserve collective punishment. Hamas is not the face of every Palestinian life

not quite, because they are the ones responsible for the situation. an important moral distinction, although involving some nuance. a more apt analogy: throwing stones at bear cubs then holding your own child in front of you when the mama bear attacks. who do you think is in the wrong there?

as an aside let me attempt to explain to you how the world works: if we (the western world) were to give in to terrorists every time humans shields were used, we would be setting the precedent that human shields are effective, so not only would their usage increase, but terrorists would get away with a whole lot of awful shit because this would put them beyond the reach of justice

and to your last point, polls show ~70% of palestinians supported the October 7th attacks so attempts to treat hamas and the will of the people as entirely seperate entities are originating in bad faith
