I was told I have a horrible deep bite and that I need a Forsus Appliance and braces to fix it, along with jaw surgery. I'm lowkey scared because I'm gonna be going into my senior year with braces. anyone with braces have any advice?

they will hurt a lot for the first month and then the pain will slowly but surely become more and more manageable but it will always hurt for like the first day or two after they put new wires in, i never really listened to the constraints they put on ur diet and i never broke a bracket so do with that what you will

I had braces for like 3 and a half years. (7th grade to 10th grade)
It’s honestly not that bad. The first night I had them I felt so weird because the brackets feel big on ur teeth when u aren’t used to it. They make ur lips look slightly bigger but not too much. Everytime u get them adjusted they will hurt for 2-4 days and u will probably have to eat softer foods until u can handle the pain. They give u a lot of foods u shouldn’t eat the only thing i wouldnt eat is popcorn because the corn cornel can get stuck on ur bracket and then it’s just there. Brush really well and get good colors that make ur teeth look whiter (black, grey, blue) all pretty good colors I’ve had. I had red purple and pink as well but they only looked good if I was wearing said color. U can chew gum but u have to chew it faster than normal so it doesn’t attach to ur braces. If ur attending school and u have lunch make sure at the end that there’s nothing stuck in ur teeth/braces it was pretty easy for me to get stuff out but I have bigger teeth so it can be harder if ur teeth are small. I think that’s all I can say abt it tbh

also when u first get them without power chains they are straightening ur teeth which can make some of ur teeth become gapped but when u get power chains it will close the gaps. Power chains hurt way more

no advice but schrodinger pfp

forsus appliance is great for a deep bite, i havent had it but ive heard from others that it hurts a bit but in most cases if your bones are still malleable will make a big difference!
jaw surgery is usually a 2nd option after if the forsus appliance doesnt work
they hurt for a week and youll feel the pain after tightenings + when the teeth are shifting but its nothing unbearable
i just got mine off 2 days ago loll so i feel you
