I read a lot of books when I was younger, I prefered fantasy over anything, I always liked history too. For school, I'm going to read a book about the last days of Caesar

Jfl at my mistake 😪

Rando I’m sorry I took a shit on your thread you didn’t deserve it
At no point did I make a book thread on .com expecting all of the replies to be serious.

I'm just surprised the first derail was about dark romance books. :sadge:

I prefer nonfiction mainly, which is kind of a broad category but still.
Personally, when it isn’t mandatory school stuff, I like to read thrillers/psychological books and philosophical essays (For example some of my fav books are Fight Club, American psycho, La part de l’autre, 99 Francs,The Stranger, 1984) For philosophical essays, my favourite is one that came in physical copy with an album I bought on vinyl, it’s semi-historic semi-fictional. I liked reading fantasy novels as a jit.

fiction, preferably novella length.
I can't do novella or novel length despite my best efforts. In most cases it's just too detailed about aspects I don't care about or I feel like it derails a lot. I do a bit better with series just because they're a bit more structured. But do you have a favorite book?

That's pretty cool.

As a kid I used to read a lot of young adult fantasy. I liked dystopian books a lot more though.

Because dystopian novels are becoming much more like a prevention for whats to come as the days go by sadly :sadge:

generally I won't touch anything too long to read in a 4 hour sitting.

my all time favorites are notes from underground and the death of Ivan Ilyich.

I read philosophy, psychological novels, crime, persuasion, cognitive science, strategy, and existential psychology — the books that teach motive and measure.

Here where i live we have some flee markets exclusively for books so we can a lot of new/old books for few bucks.

I like to read History, Religion, Mythology, Salesman books, alongside some politics, philosophy and now few romance books to go in-depth with female psychology

Nice, didn’t think y’all read horror books.

Any recommendations?
