What do I do about hypodontia

I have two lower incisors missing and there's baby teeth in their place. Consulted two dentists and they recommended-
1. Extracting them and closing the gap with braces
2. Shaving the neighboring permanent teeth for dental caps
But they themselves refused to do anything about my teeth since they "don't want anything artificial in my body at such a young age (17)".
Any advice?
