If AI keeps advancing, this is how I view the future:
  • 5-10 years from now: AI has replaced 50-60% of the jobs on the market, and the remaining jobs are high-ranking people in businesses, government officials and tradespeople.
  • 10-15 years from now: 98% of people are out of jobs. Real-life robots have come out to replace builders, plumbers, carpenters, etc. Everyone behind a computer is gone. Unemployment is sky-high.
Two things will happen. Either there will be some sort of revolution, laws or preference for human workers, or we're all just chucked out the window. Will it be a utopia, or a prison?

I'm just copy and pasting my reply to @slopslinger's thread :peepoleave:

it will be okay. like it always is. we had worse moments, i mean there was nearly a nuclear war multiple times.

still probs a revolution

Shit biggest mistake we could make is advancing it beyond the current point maybe a little before
That's actually a growing debate currently: Should we allow AI to become smarter than mankind?

This just tells me enough about AI, it's devastating the world.

What do the scientists say? 2032 is the median estimate. AI will be much more developed by then and will make climate change even worse. We're killing Mother Earth.

I don't know but I'm certainly not optimistic
We're shifting to more leftist ideologies, which will eventually lead us into totalitarianism.
We'll have no rights, no privacy and no mouth to voice our issues.

It's beginning to look like I have no mouth and I must scream

I actually knew a guy who was working on AI girlfriends that also are NSFW. He showed me his business plan, and with the way everything is going it's viable.

one thing about that specific brand of the chronically online left that vexes me is their complete dedication to aesthetic and enforcing performative social triviality instead of grounded issues that actually matter. it's almost like it's a calculated distraction🤔🤣

do u think it’s gonna be the civil rights movement all over again for these tin picking clankers
Yeah lol, eventually they'll be given conciousness and free thinking, and we'll get some clanker called Rosa Sparks who doesn't wanna get off the bus.

I be going crazy and it makes me wanna crush someone’s skull when it forgets our 2 hour roleplay session lore
it forgets like 5 replies in and whenever i remind it of what happened before it interprets it as something else

The thing that confuses me is when the chronically online far-leftists always argue about trivial things in society instead of focusing on actually important issues. Most of them do it for the aesthetic. It almost seems like they do it on purpose to draw people away from big issues.
