What is the difference between appeal and psl

I have a really fucked facial structure but I'm a haircell so I get a lot of compliments on my appearance. (like 1-5 a day from strangers in a new shared environment like a gathering with peers)

I know lot of people who are hideous get ppl hyping them up saying "evb is beautiful." But I do feel like it's a bit different when strangers compliment you unprompted without expecting anything in return--especially because these aren't isolated incidents. It has also been behind my back too.
My roommate told me her friend saw me and thought I was "gorgeous." Nobody asked her to say that to my roommate but here we are. I was also crying to my friend and she said my classmate said behind my back that she thought I was really pretty would date me if she was gay. (Too specific to be a lie) A child I was babysitting told me her friend thought I was pretty, and during functions I am complimented a lot and if I approach another pretty girl and tell them they are good looking they often say "Omg stop I was looking at you and thought the same."

What I find baffling though, is that my facial structure is quite asymmetrical and on the psl scale ppl rate me a lltb-lmtb so I was wondering what the discrepancy was between my treatment irl vs on these forums

Third photo is no makeup/hair. I don't know how to make facial expressions in photos, thus the "pout" and ND stare. I am quite animated irl though and I believe I target the more alternative niche

Yeah then I guess you have high appeal you don't need to have high psl to be attractive but like appeal is important too and that's what girls find most attractive.

Thank you for the pictures! You're quite pretty, I get why you'd receive compliments and you're a good example of appeal vs psl. Psl would be what would be standardised attractive (more defined face for example) and while your psl may not be the highest your features and colouring work well together and give you high appeal. And you're quite similar to me on the topic of ND stare, I literally have the same facial expressions on every pic and never know what else to do lol anyways you're pretty, and youve got a cool style, I cant give you an exact rating cuz I'm bad at that and it'd probably be inaccurate but yeah

PSL and IRL appeal are two different games ngl. PSL is basically autistically inspecting your bones, ratios, symmetry, dimorphism etc and then slapping a rating on it.


IRL people aren't walking around calculating your facial thirds before deciding you're attractive. Hair, skin, smile, eyes, expression, frame, style, voice, presence, grooming and overall harmony all matter. You can have some objectively fucked structural traits and still have a face that people find attractive as a whole.


And honestly, 1–5 unsolicited compliments a day from strangers + people calling you gorgeous behind your back + other attractive girls saying they noticed you first is way better evidence of appeal than some dude on a forum typing LMTB under a photo.


basically PSL = structural autism, appeal = how you actually hit people IRL. They correlate, but they're not the same thing.
