Im a guy and wanna dye my hair black but I don’t want to damage my shit, my hair is also still not that oily bc I was on accutane and oil production is coming back, I hear people saying I should temporary dye every couple days and JFL at that

For reference If this helps my hair is like molecules away from being dark brown , but still brown

get it done at a salon if you cant afford it
black hair is usually a really good idea it looks good
if you cant afford a salon use garnier box dye or get a gloss for a temporary thing it'll fade slowly over time
black box dye is really hard to get out so dont try to go lighter again after just let it grow out
madison reed makes a good gloss that'll last a ddecent amount of time and not damage
their dye is good too

Like a beard dye? I kinda don’t want to dedye constantly or at all tbh so maybe since it kinda fades it’ll blend in with the root color

If you got money to blow go to a salon, it will ensure the dye job is done well and probably a bit healthier. Downside is it will typically fade faster and you will have to make time for appointments and pay lots everytime you need a root touch up which would be about once a month (grown out roots with black dyed hair looks awful so you need to touch it up very often) Also upside is if you want to lighten your hair this kind of dye may be easier to get rid of.

If you plan on keeping your hair black and want to do it cheap and quick just get box dye. Any kind that advertises your desired colour should be fine buy it from walmart, amazon, drugstore, etc. It's super easy to do at home by yourself and costs no more than $10 a box. The only downside is this dye will be a lot harder to remove if you plan on lightening your hair in the near future. Concern about damage isn't super necessary, maybe a bit more damage than a salon but it'll be barely noticeable just use a hair mask and keep up with trimming your ends if you notice anything.

Overall if you plan on maintaining black hair use box dye. If you're unsure go to a salon for first time.
