Doesn’t your brain like cover up imperfections in the mirror or am I wrong?
people often subconsciously pose/make faces they wouldnt naturally make that makes them look better. Either way its nothing compared to lens distortion. Even if you were to stand meters away, there would still be slight distortion and the picture quality would degrade unless you have a professional camera.

iphone's main camera (not selfie) is closer to how people see you

mirror and selfie mode reverse it. these are mostly cope versions of you see of yourself

bunch of videos on youtube explain it

What happens is that your brain gets used to the mirrored version so when people take pics of you u look weird because its the unmirrored version. You have the same attractiveness level as mirror you

mirror isn't cope at all.

mirror isn't cope at all.

Yes, looking in the mirror can be a form of coping, acting as both a neutral act of self-maintenance and a potential, sometimes negative, psychological behavior. It is often a way to establish familiarity with your own image, confirm your appearance, or manage anxiety about how you are perceived by others.

Here is a breakdown of the psychology behind looking in the mirror:

Familiarity and Reassurance: People generally prefer their mirror image over photos because they are accustomed to the reversed, 3D version of themselves, a concept known as the "mere-exposure" effect.
  • Self-Regulation: It can be a way to check, fix, or adjust your appearance to feel more prepared or confident before facing others.
  • Grounding: For some, looking at themselves in the mirror is a way to ground themselves in reality, particularly if they are feeling fragmented or detached.

    Cope can be negative too

maybe if you did actual research instead of using chatgpt you'd know mirror reflects your actual attraction level.

Take a picture of your reflection in front of a mirror. Then reverse the picture.

whats more accurate the mirror or my iphone?
Mirror is a flipped version of you, where as the iphone isnt. But the iphone has lens distortion.

I would say the mirror is a more accurate version. Just know your face is flipped on it.

the best is when you use the Magnifier on your phone then your face looks most realistic (it works really)

back cameras make your face elongate and make it wider right? I notice how me and other people look wider in back camera photos

every camera makes you look uglier than irl simply because of the fact you're 3d and a picture is 2d. that's why the words photogenic and nonphotogenic exist.

whats more accurate the mirror or my iphone?
neither, the mirror is inverted so if you want more accurate get an inverted mirror, and phone has lens distortion which either makes you look too close or too far, but ig the mirror is more accurate, if u wanna test just make your friend go into a mirror and look at them and the mirror and ull see the difference
