Why do people always say they look better when they look at themself in the mirror compared to a photo

For me it's the exact opposite. I look WAY better in photos. I legit can't handle looking at myself in the mirror it looks so ass rn. Especially with glasses

bc ppl are more used to seeing themselves in mirrors than in photos that reverse your face. but if ur taking selfies it's showing the same as a mirror would. usually cameras invert your face

I look better even in inverted candids than when looking at myself in the mirror.
