why do people call realism negative

to me the truth cannot be negative , it's just the truth it's not up for judgement , when i talk about my life so many people call me negative as if i'm making up things , like dude this is my actual life , maybe it sucks to you but should i lie about it so that you can view me as "positive" ? i don't understand these people

Because their lives are so easy, they cannot comprehend the idea that someone's life is truly that awful.


So they interpret people like you as "overexaggerating" or "being too negative" when in reality, you are simply just describing what happens to you


You shouldn't ever try to understand people like this, because they will never extend the same courtesy to you to try to understand why you are that way.
