Why do people speak about you as if youre not there

When it comes to actual compliments. Its not that they dont think i hear because they say it loudly to their friends and i can clearly hear.

Do people do this to interact with you? Like am i supposed to say something back even though he wasnt even talking to me?

yeah happened to me like i dont speak much, so when sometimes they will compliment me to the other person not to me but idk what to do i just smile at them

Depends of what topic they was talking about before complimenting you, you can compliment back etc

i was walking and some ppl were in my way but they didnt notice
then one guy noticed and told the other ppl to move
when he saw me he said "damn" then told them "guys move the princess wants to come through"
So the other 2 turned around and one of them said "damn what a- (i didnt hear or he didnt finish idk)"

Also another group of ppl when i was walking to lunch acknowledged me to his group of friends "wth its like a lightskin baddie" in like a bizzare way like wth is going on why is there a "lightskin baddie"

I just dont feel invited to these conversations

I dont remember anyone complimenting me ever except close family
