why do we feel fatter in the clothing stores' mirrors?

it almost feels like they add 10 kg to your appearance automatically

i already clearly see and know i'm tragicomically obese in the one at home, but it's somehow even worse when i'm trying on a new shirt in a store and realize my body looks borderline dysfunctional. legit stopped for a moment today, looked myself in the eyes and thought: "why are you doing this?" to myself

i guess it's psychological; you are in public, so you feel more exposed even though no one really sees you

I feel so much skinner ( in a bad way ) when I'm trying clothes. My body really resembles a prepubescent girl, just with a male height. People at school used to call me Slenderman.

And I hate clothing stores because I take myself too seriously, so I cringe when any of the Tshirts or whatnot have some cringe design or wordings on them. I end up buying a bunch of plain no design no frills clothing.

I don't see any difference, still chopped in the face and body either way

But stores in particular have questionable lighting which is a very bad looksminn if you're not Chad or Stacy because angles and whatnot are make or break for most people

i got an ab vein and still got very dissapointed at my physique at the clothing store, literally said im gonna starve when i get home no way im this fat, that lightning has to be adding 20 pounds on fat to ur physique, maybe cuz its made to show clothes in the best way possible and that is making ur fat look a lot more prominent somehow
