The “ask the fisherman, not the fish” analogy only works if your fisherman is representative of fishermen in general. A niche looksmaxxing forum full of balding incels isn’t. The men there are disproportionately obsessed with appearance, misogynistic often unsuccessful in dating, quite unnattractive and have biases that the average guy doesn’t.

And judging by the type of man you’ve described, I don’t think your fisherman analogy applies to this forum at all.

I don't deal with just anyone on the forum regarding looks, there are moderators and highly knowledgeable users my age I can go to. I'm not "entering and ruining" the forum, the forum allowed me here to begin with. It would be an issue if I came here to fish for compliments and not do anything about my looks, but I've gotten substantially better-looking because of the advice I've been given. I actively participate and try to help others out, I'm not here because of some grudge against males.
