percieved leadership, health indicator, athletic advantages, and more 'aura' ig. normal guy prob wouldn't mess w/ an average build 6'5" guy but might fool around with a more muscular guy who's 5'6" or smt. girls especially want to feel 'safe' usually like their man can protect them, from my experience.

It is because we look for mates with superior traits

For example women with wide hips as it signals fertility. Tall men are seen as healthy and strong
