Serious why is it the things we want to forget most are permanent?

it seems like everything i want to forget is engraved in my memory
that's just the way it goes when u try to force urself to forget something, it has to happen naturally

Because they have a strong effect on you. Also if you still feel emotional thinking about it after 18 months its medically classified as trauma.

I have a memory exactly like that. I think just understand that nobody is going to be as hard on yourself about it as you are- and that if its the right person, they wont judge you for it at all or think slightly different about you. Ascend and forget the best you possibly can or pm if you wanna talk more privately about it 🫶

it's unfair how our own minds betray us
I wish I could tell you, I’ll be real you got to have that mental fortitude about you to push on, I had to adopt it anyway.

Even if the bad memories linger I still have the choice of making good ones, and I’m making a lot these days.
