why is my empathy extremely selective but so strong?

i struggle with empathy but when i do feel it it’s so strong

i almost cried today cuz i got a doordash order infront of my house that wasn’t mine, it was my neighbors, founders keepers, ate that shit

but then i almost cried after cuz it was one plate, one small little glass of coca coca, and some small churros,

i remember one of my neighbors is just some military guy who lives by himself, he’s super nice although we’ve never interacted aside from one time he asked me if i wanted a hoverboard cuz he needed to get rid of it.

i just imagined this guy waiting for his food yesterday, alone, hungry, and it never came. only for me to eat it today with a full fridge.

I relate to you, I feel empathy for people who have wronged me but it's always after the incident takes place
