People stop spending (prices too high) ---> Businesses earn less (production is slow) ---> Jobs are cut (less money to spend), then repeat as its a cycle.
Governements n central banks try to fix it by cutting interest rates or spending more money to boost the economy.
Our current recession is caused tariffs & trade wars so the market is shaky + high inflation
