Looks isn't the only factor in dating, traits like extraversion and risk taking matter more (better predictors) in raw mate selection. And dating is assortative.

Also, don't underestimate how lazy people can be, meaning a large majority that is exposed to looksmaxxing probably won't "looksmax" to the extent that you are thinking about. At most people would probably do a skincare routine and get a better haircut. I mean, the gym community blew up but I don't see a big increase of kids consistently going to the gym.
