Why is it called karate kid when he learns Kung fu
Only in the remake with Jaden Smith, since it acts as a spiritual successor to the 80s franchise the directing team thought it would be more selling to name it like the well-known movies rather than "Kung Fu kid". It doesn't impact the quality of the movie anyways since the word "karate" isn't mentioned through the whole movie (if I remember correctly).
