I have four healthy wisdom teeth.
I've heard of people losing their jawline on one side after wisdom tooth removal lmao
My jaw looks narrower and unbalanced in older pics but now it looks better from the front and side (still shitty but better)

Is that due to my good wisdom teeth genetics or just puberty?

I had four wisdom teeth removed when I was 16 and still ended up with a great jaw. Blaming wisdom teeth is just scapegoating. In the end, it mostly comes down to genetics.

Actually i was saying they've improved my jaw.

Agreed. But I wasn't blaming them, i was being grateful to have healthy wisdom teeth and a better looking jaw as a result

Ah, got it, my bad. Still, I’d argue that it doesn’t impact the jaw either way, whether positively or negatively.

It affects the total force of the bite . So full wisdom teeth = stronger and bigger masseter ===> and that may influence the mandible especially the gonions

How does it affect them? Where can i read more about this?

Study bone modeling and remodeling and how muscles affect the surrounding bones

Honestly, yeah the masseter muscle does play a role in how the jaw develops, especially when you’re still growing. But there’s really no solid evidence that keeping your wisdom teeth boosts bite force or makes your masseter bigger in any meaningful way. Bite strength depends on a mix of stuff, your bite alignment, overall jaw structure, muscle development, and of course, genetics.

Plus, wisdom teeth usually come in after your jaw’s already done most of its growing, so their impact on the actual shape of your jaw, especially things like the gonial angle, is probably super limited for most people.

If wisdom teeth really made your jaw noticeably stronger or wider, we’d see that clearly in studies or data comparing people with and without them. But we don’t.

So yeah, blaming jaw issues on getting your wisdom teeth removed just feels like a cope, unless someone has a very rare case with unusual anatomy or something.
