Would growing out my hair on top as seen in the 3rd photo while trimming the sides be an improvement?

Since a hairtransplant will inevitably be recommended, I can't do that as my frontalis wrinkles are too high. Please focus on what I can fix.

After giving it thought, perhaps I could grow it out a bit longer than the third picture, and get a perm to part it left and right to keep the temples covered. Thoughts on that idea?

Maybe it's time to let go of that hair, get a buzz cut and go for it, maximize other aspects.
I'll definitely be gymmaxing. Its just that damn hairline is my biggest issue.

In the end, it won't help much, but of course you can try. Do you just have a bad hairline, or are you also losing hair? If it's just the hairline, you could grow it out longer.

Its my natural hairline.
