Research I did 2 years ago for a tiktok slide show on how the kaaba was previously defiled, titled “would you kiss a 20 year old public toilet”.
Not participating in any religious debates rn, but I do have a part 2 of defending my sources that could be copy pasted.
Sorry for any spelling mistakes, I believe I just typed this knowledge out for fun 2 years ago.
In the 920s AD The Qarmatian "shia sect" became famous for attacking pilgrims on the hajj routes in iraq and arabia.
In 930 AD Abu Tahir (the leader of the qarmatians) decided to attack the mecca. He and his men rode up to the gates and convinced the guards to let them in claiming they just wanted to perform hajj.
After being let in they immediately start slaughtering everyone. The Qarmatians killed around 30k people including pilgrims and residents.
Many scholars consider the garmantians bitter haters of islam rather than the shia sect they are recognised as. Abu Tahir mocks allah by taunting "where are your birds!?".
In 570 AD, whilst the kaaba still belonged and was worshipped by the Quraysh pagans, allah protected the kaaba from an invasion driven by elephants by making birds drop rocks on them.
Why didnt he do the same when Abu Tahir attacked mecca?
Surah al-fil 105:1-5
Have you (O Muhammad) not seen how your lord dealt with the People of the Elephant. Did He not make their plot go astray? And He sent against them birds, in flocks, Striking them with stones of Sijjil. And made them like eaten straw.
Some of the pilgrims ran to hide inside of the kaaba, thinking they would be safe in the house of allah. Abu Tahir and his men slaughtered them all the same.
Surah Mal-e-Imran (3:97)
"In it are clear signs, the standing place of Abraham. And whoever enters it is safe. And pilgrimage to the House is a duty owed to Allah by the people who are able to undertake the journey. And whoever disbelieves - then indeed, Allah is free from need of the worlds."
Abu Tahir leaves mecca with a large amount of loot, including the black stone. When getting the stone out of the kaaba, the stone broke into 7 pieces.
After attacking the mecca the Qarmatians could no longer be considered muslims. Therefor they appointed some random guy as Iman Mahdi (a prophesied future leader), and said that the islamic era had ended.
They burned Qurans, cursed the previous prophets, and did their business on the black stone.
They placed the pieces of the black stone where you put your feet in a public latrine.
The random man who they claimed was Imam Mahdi goes a little crazy after 80 days and Abu Tahir kills him, reclaiming leadership of the Qarmatians
He continues to raid and attack people until he dies from smallpox in 944. in 951AD the pieces of the black stone is finally returned to mecca, when the 'Abbásids pay the Qarmatians large sum of money during a peace treaty.
The muslims embedded the pieces of the black stones on a surface with a silver frame around it that ironically looks like a toilet.
