Again, depends on where you live 5'9" is the majority of mens height in America, with 5'10" being 2nd most common. That is average, not below average. @Schizotypalcel said he was at a concert in america and was taller than almost everybody, but that's just an anecdote and I'm not whipping out the statistics for this.
