No, growing up before social media girls and guys were alot more even. Only social media and dating apps caused this imbalance. Before only reference existed was movies. Now with filters and frauding and all that people come across as Better looking than before. I don't think it's true tho it's alot of time frauding. So girls have the illusion that hot men are everywhere but they're not. It's a new generation thing tbh.
