You will always see the more fortunate, lucky people try to take credit for their living situations. But they are not going to acknowledge the opportunities they were given.
When people tell you "you can do it man, you can do anything" They are not saying it for your benefit.
They are saying it to gaslight you, and feel better about themselves. Because it implies that if you fail, it was because of something you did wrong. 'you could have done it, but you didn't. So it is Your fault.'
