You should watch Moral Orel

Looks boring.

I have to much of a constricted affect to enjoy comedy.

It's so good, mainly explores how religion corrupts people etc.
But also talks about r**e, abortion, racism etc.

"Moral Orel," a stop-motion animated show that ran on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim for three seasons. The show begins as a comedy meant to highlight the hypocrisy of Moralton's townspeople, and in turn, the hypocrisy of real life so-called Christians*, but it quickly turns dark.

I've watched all of ts in tiktok clips

its pmo tbh fuck u mess, are they mixing christianity and judaism?
Moral Orel was a claymation show on Adult Swim that aired from 2005-2009. There were three seasons, each with episodes lasting only about 11 minutes. The show satirizes religious hypocrisy (not religion in general).

Season one has a pretty basic format for every episode. In the beginning of the episode, Orel Puppington (an 11 year old boy) learns a religious lesson from either his father, Clay, or the pastor of his church, Reverend Putty. Orel is a naive and trusting child who tends to take things too literally, leading him into violent, absurd, or dangerous situations, such as performing necromancy and smoking crack. In the end, he gets in trouble for it and beaten by his father. Season one is for sure a comedic show.

Season two continues as a comedy, but they break the original format often and start exploring subplots in the lives of other characters in Orel's hometown of Moralton. The show's main focus in season two, however, is still mostly on Orel. In the finale of season two, there is an extremely disturbing dramatic tonal shift, and from the end of season two throughout season three, Moral Orel is not a comedy anymore. It is a drama.

Season three is a thirteen part series with overarching subplots all connecting to each other (with events from the past and the present) and the series has changed from being mostly about Orel to being about the lives of the townspeople, Orel's family, and the town's negative influence on Orel.

Now, onto why you should watch the show.

In the beginning of the series, Orel is a cheerful, naive child that is genuinely happy and enjoys his life. He loves Jesus with all of his heart and does his best to honor God. He is a respectful kid, if a little too inquisitive. His inquisitiveness leads his parents and the townspeople to make things up so that Orel will shut up, which is a huge plot device. The show has serious messages, but is funny.

Clay is Orel's father. He is an alcoholic who claims to be a devout Christian, but whose actions beg to differ. He is abusive and negligent toward Orel. In season three much of his backstory comes to light, and for most of the show he is one of the most interesting characters.

Bloberta is Orel's mother. She is a numb, cold, distant woman, and is negligent to her children. She cooks and cleans the house. She genuinely loves Orel, but hates Clay, which becomes clear throughout the show.

Shapey is Orel's brother, a seven year old with a mental deficiency that was (most likely) born premature. He is spoiled rotten so that his parents don't have to deal with him.

I'm doing a terrible job of explaining this. The show starts off funny and winds up depressing as fuck, absolutely the most depressing show that I have ever seen in my life. It is fucked up to no end, and has themes revolving around religious hypocrisy, dissolution, depression, the deconstruction of the nuclear family, and escapism. JUST WATCH IT. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.
