Note: This post is not promoting substance abuse or any bad habits in general.

Many people think that the only way to becoming successful in life is by fixing every single bad thing about themselves but this is just bullshit. You'll just put unrealistic expectations on yourself and end up disappointed.

It really doesn't matter if you masturbate twice a day or doomscroll for 5 hours straight or do meth or crack. The only thing that's stopping your improvement is doing literally nothing. Until you're doing something productive you'll find success. Like you could be smoking weed while studying and your grades will improve, or you could goon for hours and do your job you'll get the money.

So many successful people were literal pieces of shits, many leaders were functioning alcoholics, promiscuous or had a generally bad perspective in life yet they got successful in their respective fields.

What I am trying to say is that your addictions aren't stopping your improvement, your stagnant nature is. You can be a drug addict and make a ton of money if you put in work and never touch anything and be broke if you don't.

I myself have noticed the most improvement when I ditched fixing every single shit in my life and focused on what was necessary to get me going.

The best approach is to start implementing good habits with short steps so as not to feel overwhelmed by the sudden change

Most successful ppl get addicted after success.

Also some successful ppl have qualifiers that make up for bad habits that you prolly don't like a higher iq, or strong connections/family.

Honestly it depends on what type of success you are looking for.

Entertainment is mostly luck and connections so they can prolly be a bit more degen because of that then hire ppl to do financial shit for them

I've met many people with questionable or outright bad lifestyles or addictions who have become successful, i.e., in their jobs, academics or life. Sometimes they're a genuine piece of shit in a very amounting life, mostly because they worked their ass off to achieve that, even if anyone who knows them could realise they're not that talented. A certain amount aptitude and talent is definitely required to achieve literally anything though.

I guess you're correct about the kind of success we're looking for.

Connections and luck are very important and pay off well, but it is generally their own work that puts them in the position to use them.

I agree, it is the correct approach for most people.
I am just pointing out the habit of wasting time in fixing everything instead of approaching the more important tasks or actually doing something.
