feel like i should mention i have class 2 braces, class 2 elastic on my right side from my first molar i think, to my canine

Nope, we know it's recessed due to the poor support which is leading to the early jowls that are quite noticeable.

this inward curve highlighted in red shows us that the maxilla is recessed. If it were a straight line, it would be flat, but it is not, it's curves slightly inward.
