Why Fashionmax?​

Fashionmaxxing is one of the most underrated and ignored methods for your SMV. It adds so much appeal and I’ve seen so many fashionmaxxed LTNs get girlfriends that they never would’ve talked to if they wore the random outfit their mom bought them. Fashionmaxxing is statusmaxxing. Even a cheap suit can make an LTN look important. It shows that you have taste and taste shows status.

Where can I Fashionmax?
Cheapest options to more expensive ones

1. Daddy’s/Mommy’s Closet
Free clothes from any family member really, not just mom and dad. It’s free if your family doesn’t charge you at least. Your dad, mom, grandpa, grandma, and any other family probably have some old gems that they wouldn’t mind giving you if you just so happened to fit.

This would be best for an older aesthetic like GrandpaCore or maybe a workwear aesthetic if your parents had a labor job.

2. Thrifting
The cheapest option around besides your family’s closets. I recommend going to your local thrift store first, then go to a franchise like Goodwill, but I wouldn’t recommend “thrift” stores like 2nd Street.

Stores like 2nd Street are more like secondhand stores and sell expensive, (but quality) rare pieces that might not be in your budget. Your local thrift store probably has the best prices and you might be able to find some good pieces, with stores like Goodwill having slightly higher prices.

If you have a Goodwill Bins near you in America, I would definitely recommend going there as people find crazy pieces for crazy cheap in bulk. Thrifting also includes garage sales and you may find your best finds here.

3. Shein/AliExpress/Temu
Now this may be a crazy take, but these sites have a great selection of cheap, baggy denim that have high (enough) cotton content to justify it. I still wear jeans from here and everybody compliments them until they hear that I got it off Shein (just don’t tell anyone).

Now I don’t recommend getting much else off here, but if you do, make sure it has high cotton content or whatever other material the item is usually made with.

4. Depop/Any other thrift site
Sites like Depop or Poshmark provide a large selection of cheap to expensive secondhand items that you could definitely make a beautiful wardrobe with. Now most of the sellers here thrift and then resell it for more, so this is basically paying someone else to thrift for you with a fee (+shipping/other fees ofc).

It is quite pricey at times, but the quality of the pieces here are great and it’s better to save a bit for one quality piece than buy a wardrobe of shitty, low-quality clothing.

The benefits of these sites are that you can find whatever pieces you could possibly want with one search, with price filters, brand filters, whatever you could possibly want AND you can haggle down the sellers.

Depop has a 60% or so offer price minimum, so I recommend going as close as this as you can to this on your offer and haggle with the seller. I have this one old, blue Nike sweater that I absolutely adore and fits perfectly on me from doing this.

5. Online Stores that Offer Discounts (Hollister, Cotton-On, Musinsa, etc.)
The most expensive option, but still affordable. Online stores that offer discounts are everywhere and go as low as 50% on random days for certain items. A lot of these are western and you can look around, but I’d like to suggest a foreign one; Musinsa.

Musinsa is a Korean fashion site with high quality clothing for almost Shein prices. The biggest caveat is that the shipping price is like $60 (to the US) unless you’re buying $200+ worth of items. They offer a lot of discounts and I recommend buying in bulk to save. They also sell some expensive items, but if you turn your sorting to cheap, you’ll get what you were looking for.

Some other ones accessible in America (sorry EUcels I’m sure you guys can figure it out) I suggest are Hollister, H&M, Zara, Cotton-On, Uniqlo, Zumies, and Tillys. I recommend looking online for cheap prices and picking it up in person to avoid shipping prices.
