I was doing some research for a project for school and came across this article. To be honest it could be water but I didn't know it so ill assume its not crazy well known

TLDR

Essentially, the study provides evidence on how during hypertrophy, skeletal muscles rewire metabolism to suck glycogen (AKA carbs) into muscle building pathways.
During testing, labeled carbon from glucose was directly used in non-essential amino acids (around a 13% increase) and moved to the pentose phosphate pathway (+40%)
Contrary to popular belief, carbs arent just fueling your workouts, they directly contribute to the growth of your muscles afterwards!

EXTRA INFO(PROTEIN POWDER USERS CHECK THIS OUT)
When the researchers blocked phosphoglycerate dehydrogenase (Phgdh) which is the key enzyme that creates the amino acid serine from glucose intermediates muscle protein synthesis dropped a staggering 58.1%

While the body locally produces serine, intense hypertrophy leads to more demand meaning serine could be a limiting factor on your growth.

How to get serine?

Most standard whey protiens are mostly made out of Branched-Chain Amino Acids but lacking in serine and glycine.
Adding a collagen hydrolysate or using Silk Protien (A protien powder high in serine and glycine) could show improvements in muscle growth.
You can also get serine from whole foods such as eggs, chicken, tofu and much more so for alot of people you dont need to worry too much.

Yeah a water topic (carbs replenish the loss energy which without it will stunt development of the body) but the serine and PHGDH is a good addition as many people don’t even know the use of them.

College protein gets a lot of hate bc it is not a pure protein source but like you said if we understand and use it for the external benefits it can enhance our growth.

Also keto diet isn’t completely shit bc it is usually used by 37 year old moms that don’t do much physical activity anyways. But for anyone remotely active it is SHIT, so I never understood the fact that ppl push this onto kids and others as a 100% way to loose fat.

And it seems ppl in the replies don’t have an ounce of knowledge on anything carb related so this can be helpful to those tards.

Nice study👊🤜🏻🤛🏾💯🕌
