All my life I've had a severe tounge tie because my parents never cut it when i was born, and also my pediatric dentist was way too holistic for a doctor, leading my brother to require braces due to him refusing to pull teeth, and for me to have a narrow pallate that my tounge doesnt fit comfortably in. I was unable to keep proper tounge posture due to the tie. About a year ago, I was in the dental surgeons office to get my wisdom teeth removed. He was doing a quick rundown before the surgery on what he would be doing. He mentioned that I had a tounge tie and offered to cut it for free since he was already operating on me. He took maybe a centimeter of and now i feel like I can finally rest my tounge on the roof of my mouth. While it was too late to undo any damage done to my palate, it was still so generous and impactful to me.
