All these externalities such as lighting, angle, posture, ect. can alter how you are perceived greatly as you already know. From what I can gather, others see you how you see yourself in the mirror in normal lighting, at roughly an eye level angle.

You need your phone to be around your eyes and do a photo from 2m distance for the photo to be as accurate as possible

The quality of the photo goes down tho. May try a professional photographer
