Does getting braces off improve looks?

How much of an improvement are you going to see when you finally have braces removed? I don't mean in terms of the orthodontic treatment but rather the subtle imbalance braces cause to your facial thirds or the impact on the prominence of the jaw. I mean if you're at least normie tier right now
